If You Had the Money, what would you be doing?
If you had the money you wanted, what would you be doing with your life now? An interesting question but the answer is even more interesting. It’s not a mystery or a puzzle. The key to the answer lies in what you are doing now.
I just got back from New Orleans. I took a few days off with some dear friends to get away and relax, relate and release. The hotel was beautiful, comfortable, luxurious, plush and everything you could ever want in a hotel to make your stay a virtual Eden. In December of last year I went to Las Vegas and because of the economy, hotel accommodations were being offered for pennies on ten dollars. The new Wynn hotel where I stayed literally gave me a 2000 square foot suite for a fourth of it’s normal asking price. I couldn’t help but think about what I’d be doing if I had the money to do things the way I wanted to. The Lord (believe it or not) talked to me in both places about being so money minded that I didn’t allow Him to do things for me because of how I thought about money. I have a passion to see people enjoy the God-kind of life. Your attitude is greatly influenced by your environment and surroundings. Even if you live in a low income neighborhood, you don’t have to have a low income mentally. Your home be it apartment or house can still be neat, clean and represent His best. Most think they would do things differently if they had the money. Truth is, you wouldn’t. You only do more of what you are already doing. That’s why you MUST continue the process of changing your thinking. If you had the money, you would only do more of what you are already doing. If you are overspending with a little money, you would be overspending with more money. However if you’re generous with little money, you’ll likely be more generous with more money and extremely generous with a lot of money. So, without you changing your thinking, I can tell you what you would be doing if you had the money. If you’re lazy now, you’d be a recluse with more money. If you’re industrious and entreprenuerial with what you have now, you’ll like be ambitious and industrious with more. Thus, you’ll not likely realize and increase in the quality of your life until you do something about your thinking. What do you think? talk to me!

thanks for the reminder. I’m doing some of what I want to do with my life now. Not nearly to the degree I plan on doing stuff. But I’m at least doing some of it. I don’t think folks should wait until all things are perfect cause they’ll never be. You gotta get started now. Change your mind and you will change your life
In other words, money should not be the determining factor in what we do with our lives. We should settle it with God first and foremost.
